About My Writing
If you've made it to this page, then congrats! I'm going to keep this fairly simple and stay away from an overdone professional explanation. I've formatted this site so that I have a way to share my writing with those that are interested. While most of what you'll find here will be short poems without a connective theme, there are a handful of pieces that follow the same theme or are connected by a certain idea.
As you've probably noticed, this site has a viking theme to it. Norse mythology is something I find extremely fascinating, and it's inspired a large percentage of my writing. My pen name, Ode, is taken from a quote from the 13th Warrior, which is linked below. Further below is a brief explanation of the parts of Norse culture and mythology that have inspired my writing the most.
Norse Mythology

VIKINGS
Vikings were Norse seafarers that hailed from Denmark, Norway, and Sweden, who raided vast parts of western Europe and England from the 8th to 11th centuries in addition to exploring lands to the west such as Iceland and Greenland. The Vikings were known to be ruthless in their raiding and pillaging of unsuspecting villages, particularly by the divided Saxon kingdoms of England.

VALHALLA
Valhalla is a gigantic, magnificent hall in Asgard, one of the Nine Worlds in Norse mythology, ruled over by Odin. Upon death, half of those who die in battle are chosen by Odin to travel to Valhalla. Once in Valhalla, Viking warriors feast and prepare to join Odin in the giant battle to take place during Ragnarok.
